Our Story

My name is Hollie Rossiter and I founded MILK STRAP in 2021 after giving birth to my first child in the midst of the corona virus pandemic.

How it began

I chose to feed my son via a combination of breast feeding, expressed milk and formula bottle. I was lucky as I was able to express large volumes each time therefore I found I would express milk to feed my son on the go and this also enabled my husband to share the feeding process.

My son often refused milk from the fridge, so I found myself keeping it at room temperature, which capped the shelf life. During life as a new mom, I found myself often forgetting what time I had expressed the milk, mixing the supply I had expressed on the side, leaving me questioning which one I needed to use first. As a consequence, I threw lots of liquid gold away.

As my son progressed past 3 months, I found I reduced the breast milk and introduced more formula. This again presented new issues as I would make the bottle up and he would not want it at that time, having fallen asleep between the bottle being ready and getting it to his mouth, overthinking the time period I made the milk at times forgetting when exactly the bottle was created so once again would waste a lot of milk.  I recognised I needed a handover system.

What is MILK STRAP?

MILK STRAP has been designed to act as a temporary label system, enabling you to easily note the date and time your child’s milk was produced, is due or will expire.  Our goal is to support the communication between all caregivers and ensure your child’s milk is never used beyond the safe parameters.

Each MILK STRAP is compatible with most baby bottles and is made of high-quality silicone, lined with an iron plate to temporarily fix the MILK STRAP around a baby bottle, ensuring a quick, hassle-free and secure hold. MILK STRAPs are both durable and reusable.

Simply prepare and dispense milk into a bottle of choice. Using a MILK STRAP pen, write into the white box the child’s name, the date, and time the milk was produced. Wrap the MILK STRAP around the bottle. Once this information is outdated, wipe the white box clean with a damp cloth. Then simply reuse. Do not put the bottle into a microwave once the MILK STRAP is applied.
